Reading a clip from Geezers "Wing Chun" competition. Excellent. It's not about style vs style but I believe in analyzing what is obvious and not so obvious.
When you have 2 opponents from the same style there is a certain expectation, a certain familiarity but when the styles are not complimenting (now) you walk into the land of acquiring knowledge by experience.
Years ago I was deep into TKD while stationed in Korea and I always roamed the back streets of Seoul visiting schools and engaging in "exchanges". You learn quickly the rules of the game, adapt and make mental notes.
Perfect example. Ba Qua. Kicks r low and driving with force to knock off ur marbles perfectly legal (maybe not in the states but it was perfect there). Movements are not linear but "walking the circle". Point in case, if you're not accustomed to or don't adapt he'll wind up behind u whispering in ur ear)))
It's all good.
