I’m sure this location was used in the classic film ‘Jason and the Argonauts’…the bit with the Harpy/harpiya.

Jason and the Argonauts was my favorite movie as a kid.
Me too! The skeleton skirmish was terrifying! I attended a public interview with Ray Harryhausen and he had one of the skeletons, Talos plus some characters from the Sinbad films on the table he was sitting at. They were very tatty after all these years.

The Sinbad films were awesome, too.
God, I love movies.

Wasn't the movie a lot of clay-mation?
Yes. And I think the monsters were creepier than modern CG for some reason. I think their motion was a bit jerkier, giving them an unnatural quality that's appropriate for a monster.

Claymation also gave birth to the venerable Gumby, the oldest TV show I remember watching in the 50"s (along with Felix the Cat and Crusader Rabbit cartoons). And I do miss the more recent neo-claymation (but equally unknown to the younger audience) Mr. Bill, whose assorted violent demises provided great pre-politically correct entertainment.
