The tea party members do not owe Boehner for their elections, so they don't owe him or the republican establishment anything.
They don't want earmarks for their states so they can't be bribed with cash.
They don't care about being on important committees so they can't be bribed with that power.
They don't care if they are re-elected, so they don't feel the pressure to cave in.
this came from a liberal cable show and it shows why the tea party is important. the tea party wants to reduce the size of government, prevent the government from raising taxes, which would finish off the economy, and they realize they have a small window to get this done. Good for them.
