How do you like it? I always preferred Okinawan karate to Japanese.

So far I'm liking it. My instructor has cross trained in Okinawan Goju Ryu, and has added quite a few elements from it, such as Tensho and Uke Waza. I went in knowing a few of the forms under different names so it's going pretty quick.
Oooh, I loved Tensho! What a great kata and what a nice counterpoint to Sanchin.
I prefer the close-in and upright nature of the Okinawan systems, but then I have always preferred to get in and grab my opponent. I did some Shotokan briefly and while I didn't dislike it I certainly preferred the Goju, Isshin, and Uechi I had studied.

Nah I am going to do a little house cleaning today. We recently bought a bunch of stuff so I have boxes everywhere.
