I need to start one, and workout, and cardio, and attempt MA training again, and....Boy the ands pile up after awhile don't they!
 
What do you think of the tech's so far, as opposed to kempo's? At least in terms of functionality over looks?

The techs are all within the forms and to be honest, to see them done by me isn't all that impressive. To see them done by my instructor, well, my jaw drops open. What it is doing for me is making my Kempo better. It is teaching me how to use my entire body.
 
You do notice the translation over to kempo when doing it? I mean the kung fu "shows up" without thinking about it?

Well, what I hear is from my students that tell me that I move much better than I did even a year ago. Yes, for the most part, it is done without thinking. Some of the change may simply be from experience, who knows.
 
At least it's improvement. The Kung Fu aspect can be very difficult.

That's the truth, improvement is what we all strive for. Yes, the kung fu is tough. I look at it this way, I continue to learn, whether it be physical, or simply a concept. Once I grasp the idea, I take it and revisit my material. Things don't always look the same after applying the new concepts and experience ...
