Queensryche? Awesome. I'll listen to it later when I have the bandwidth. ;)

Have you listened to Operation Mindcrime all the way through yet? I recommend that. :D

Yes.... in 1988....the first thing I ever owned of theirs was their EP
100px-Queensryche_-_Queensryche_EP_cover.jpg

and they had not released any other albums yet... what can I say....I'm old
I first saw them in concert before Operation Mind Crime was released

Yep I can see why.. that is decently good cover! I like a cover specially when the song is blisteringly good to begin with :D Jx

David Savage, a buddy of mine from high school, who now lives in Rosmalen, Netherlands. His website automatically plays a few of his songs from his latest album. Home. His tunes usually calm me if I'm stressed.

If I'm about to train and want to get my mind in the right place, I like Two Steps from Hell, Audiomachine, or Gothic Storm.

@Xue Sheng, you are feeling Christmassssy?? yay, early party at yours :) Be hearing this a bunch of times and thought of you XS :) Gilmour still rocking :) x

I have not heard that before and I am glad that David Gilmore is still at it. And you have no idea, or maybe you do, how much that actually applies to my life at the moment, especially the

Let's go do it
Have it all our way
Go back to where we blew it
And lose our heads along the way

bit

This song again today and it got me pondering

Another one that got me thinking

0 years ago if you asked me to describe what I thought I would look like, it would be like the guys from Sound garden on the Segways...except on a Harley...basically because that is much what I looked like 30 years ago..... only, as my Chinese relatives put it, with yellow hair.

But now, per the CIO of my office, as I was dressed in my black coat, black hat and wearing sunglasses, I look like a hit man...although I will admit I don't see it.

Here you go...

"You rise, you fall, you're down then you rise again
What don't kill you make you more strong..."

Hits my mood just right during judo class, gotta say...

A musical trip through my Christmas eve day

Not feeling it this year, trying, but having a hard time. I was out doing some last minute shopping, I had to be actually, since Mrs Xue is in China and left me with a lot to do. That and Christmas has been rough since my father passed away, but I have to keep it going for the kids.

But back to... I was out and getting really REALLY annoyed at traffic and people cutting others off. I was trying to not get really angry, but I was failing. Then this song came on the radio

For some reason that broke the anger and gave me pause to look at the whole thing differently.

Then I thought I should just go home and this came on the radio right after "Life is Beautiful"

So I soldiered on to finish up the shopping and got it done.... but then back to traffic..... I hate traffic..... then this came on the radio and it helped.. and left me with just the right amount of anger to be aware of and deal with the traffic...

but it left me thinking about my dad and the fact my wife was in China... and how much energy this is taking out of me.....Freak on a Leash ended and as I pulled onto my street.. this

Ironically that was the first song I ever learned on the Guitar....... Think I will go try and play it again

One of my favorite musicians and lyricists is Chris Smither.
Stop thinking now
Quit second-guessing all your failed relations
With your would've, could've, should've, maybe might-have-been
I'll show you how
Send your feelings out for lubrication
Lose these blues and screw your head on tight again
She cut you bad, your heart is just a scar
But if you could just get mad, you'd be better off by far
What you want is taken
What you need is better circulation
Work that heavy heart and get it light again

Listen to me now
You suffer from a sadness, apprehension
That if she could read your mind she'd see just how it ought to be
But she's read it all by now
And your style don't get a grip on her attention
She ain't in your state of mind and she don't want to be
You think if she'd just talk, you could explain it all
She'd be polite, but all night she's been hoping you won't call
She'll it's all her fault, she'll always be your friend
Plus loads of **** too dumb to mention
I've been that road and it's paved with good intentions

Well it's hard to believe
But I'm telling you your heart would soon recover
But you don't want it to, you love this aching agony
'Cause it's noble, but it's true
You won't forsake this pain for other lovers
Happiness would fill your mind with misery
Time will wound all heels, and it ain't pretty
With any luck at all, she'll find some dope that you can pity
Your loss is measured in illusions
And your gain is all in bittersweet intelligence
And your winsome smile will lose some of its innocence
Your winsome smile
Your winsome smile will lose some of its innocence
