I'll fly away

it is such a wonderful song.
The sound is kinda low, you gotta crank it up some....
That is a very spiritual song no doubt, irrespective of one's convictions. I wonder why this song means something to you granfire? Maybe it is a secret.

Here is a song for you I have always found extremely potent in that way; spiritual though not. I like the emotion in her version. Hope you like

It's a nice song.

But the Band's rendition is especially touching.
Especially the first time you hear it.

Excellent! I love finding old references in songs. When I listen to VW I hear everything from Dylan to old ska-style beats. Very cool :D You have fine taste though I am probably not one to remark. Please tell me what musical mood you are in currently? Which song sums up your mood today or what did you last listen to? I should be interested to know :)[yt]Cqg_ZGcuybs[/yt]

[yt]MO0EFY_gjNc[/yt] That's my morning! I like most of your picks. Not so sure on the 80's rock. Talking Heads remind me of American Psycho since watching the movie.

Granfire - Classic. Here's an oldie remade. [yt]okaTj5IXh5A[/yt]

One of my favourites: Lost For Words by Pink Floyd:

So I open my door to my enemy
And I ask could we wipe the slate clean?
But they tell me to please go **** myself
You know you just can't win....

@Monroe
Ah the Chemical Brothers reminds me of my halcyon days (whenever they were lol) :D Star Guitar is my fav Chem Bros. Oh I like the diversity of your taste. That is refreshing to be musically multifaceted like that! :)

My current jumprope song :D

@Razor
See you have not said why that is one of your favourites? Some old school metal in the same vein? I do not know. Lyrically naff and but they do not make metal like this nowadays :D
Saxon Piss Off ~ How come every time you feel real good, Somebody drops you a piss off bomb?
lol

Jenna - Stuff I like to run to.

[yt]4_grgYH0hls[/yt]

Not sure when Freaky Flow mixed this. 1997? But very nice to run to.

Ooooh!!! DnB and jungle!!! Monroe!! Now you are talking my language! You must run fast if these are your current run tracks!! Oh I still love DnB after all these years, I find it entrancing when doing high rate cardio, I think there is no better for jumprope! Well, actually, I would go a little harder nowadays :D
I know hardstyle is not right sounding in everyone's ears and but it certainly pumps those intervals :D

Hardstyle isn't usually what I would listen to, but it can be effective to get me to move faster.

Using weights this morning. I find the pace helps me with breathing.

Oh that is rowdy style music Miss Monroe, turn it down they will be shouting next door!! :D

Bored with theese sounds now and but still great great great exercise music :) Plus I will always love this video

Ah, sorry. It is one of my favourites as I feel the lyrics speak to experiences that most people will have at some point; after feeling very sad, and deciding to try and do something about it, the protagonist is unsuccessful in making up because of the way others are, and concludes that a lot of the time, even if you want to change things, you cannot.

As for old school metal, many favourites of mine there as well! Rime of the Ancient Mariner by Iron Maiden being one of my favourite metal songs ever. Not only is it an epic tale based on a brilliant poem, but everything comes together so well; the guitars, bass, lyrics and vocals particularly blend into an amazing metal song!

@ Jenna - Yeah like that!

This girl has a fantastic cover of O Death. Not my usual style but thoroughly enjoy. I like the universal message to the lyrics.

@Razor, Rime of the Ancient Mariner is one of those epics I think from a genre that is beyond the wit of many current acts. A classic indeed! :) I understand completely. As for having the grace to accept what one cannot change, my philosophy is that the only thing that cannot be changed is what we determine cannot be changed. When we appreciate that all things are indeterminate then we can affect change. Even where that would seem impossible. And but I doubt this is the place for it :) Here, have some Black :)

But I'll take my time anywhere
I'm free to speak my mind anywhere
And I'll redefine anywhere

@Monroe, yay! excellent! I love it when female musicians kick *** :D And of course that reminds me of this song when she did everything with just some loop device. Can I have more please? :)

KT Tunstall is always welcome. Feeling like listening to some rock today.

This is how I feel today. :)

I don't wanna go to hell, but if I do
It'll be 'cuz of you
If your man gonna make mistakes
Until he hits the breaks

My heart's on fire, with a strange desire, Yeah

Ohhh, Ohhhh, Ohhhhhhh
Ohhh, Ohhhh, Ohhhhhhh

All those birds on the wire
Are gonna say I'm a liar
But we all know, in the end
That you never were my friend

My heart's on fire, with a strange desire....

Ha, okay, here's how I'm feeling today.....

Somebody That I Used To Know - Gotye

Now and then I think of when we were together
Like when you said you felt so happy you could die
I told myself that you were right for me
But felt so lonely in your company
But that was love and it's an ache I still remember

You can get addicted to a certain kind of sadness
Like resignation to the end
Always the end
So when we found that we could not make sense
Well you said that we would still be friends
But I'll admit that I was glad that it was over

But you didn't have to cut me off
Make out like it never happened
And that we were nothing
And I don't even need your love
But you treat me like a stranger
And that feels so rough
No you didn't have to stoop so low
Have your friends collect your records
And then change your number
I guess that I don't need that though
Now you're just somebody that I used to know
Now you're just somebody that I used to know
Now you're just somebody that I used to know

Now and then I think of all the times you screwed me over
But had me believing it was always something that I'd done
But I don't wanna live that way
Reading into every word you say
You said that you could let it go
And I wouldn't catch you hung up on somebody that you used to know

But you didn't have to cut me off
Make out like it never happened
And that we were nothing
And I don't even need your love
But you treat me like a stranger
And that feels so rough
No you didn't have to stoop so low
Have your friends collect your records
And then change your number
I guess that I don't need that though
Now you're just somebody that I used to know

(Somebody)
I used to know
(Somebody)
Somebody that I used to know
(Somebody)
I used to know
(Somebody)
Now you're just somebody that I used to know
I used to know
That I used to know
I used to know
Somebody

Oh, yeah, and it's a cool song and clip too.

Wow, you are a complicated bunch today then :)

@Monroe, oooh, yes, the lovely Queens :D I so like all your choices! Hope this fits in too... gets my blood up every time :)
[yt]FOBeubfr-xY[/yt]

@Steve, am I on the right lines with this?
You don't look different, but you have changed
I'm looking through you, you're not the same

@christopher, you are feeling sad and hard-done-by?? A cool song and unusual video! I think this is in the same lyrical vein maybe? A classic 1980s song for sure!

Ha, yep, a definite 80's classic... from 1979! If it helps, I often oscillate with things more along the following lines:

And, let's face it, any excuse for the Leningrad Cowboys to get posted....

So, how is the weather?

Aha that is not even 1980s? Grr.. where is my researcher? Yo researcher, you are fired! :D Ah the might of the Russian voice and military brass put to use in this way is funny I think! :D Well this is not the same as the last song? Your outlook is rollercoastering Christopher, I hope you get fixed up and stabilised into equanimity? Well here you go, a video featuring naked ladies ha

Ah, now when you said that, I was expecting this...

It's been one week since you smiled at me,
Threw your arms in the air, and said "you're crazy".....
