I do not recall her looking like that. Perhaps that is how she looked in the antipodean sense :) I remember they did a song off Romeo & Juliet around that time too. And but anyway, I would not read anything into anything Christopher, a song is a song is a song and for proof, here is a song :) What else you got for me that details your delicacy in physical terms? :D

Yep, the R&J song was called Number One Crush, from memory.

Hmm, revealing more about my delicate nature.... okay, but you have to promise to be gentle with me....

I had thought someone else had done that song? Hmm. Aw you are a delicate little flower under your armour Christopher haha. Never mind, I will take you home with me and put you on my window ledge in the shady dry. Here listen, this will remind you a little of the Old Country that you have not been to. Yet :) Can you hear? I miss the hot breezes. London is grim you know.

I was listening to the radio the yesterday and I heard the song heart atack and vine done by Tom Waits. Now I am not a big fan of Tom Waits but this line of the song hit me and made a difference for wome reason "Don't you know there ain't no devil, it's just god when he's drunk"

Heart Attack and Vine - Tom Waits

liar liar with your pants on fire, white spades hangin' on the telephone
wire, gamblers reevaluate along the dotted line, you'll never recognize
yourself on heartattack and vine.

doctor lawyer beggar man thief, philly joe remarkable looks on in disbelief,
if you want a taste of madness, you'll have to wait in line, you'll probably
see someone you know on heartattack and vine.

boney's high on china white, shorty found a punk, don't you know there ain't
no devil, there's just god when he's drunk, well this stuff will probably kill
you, let's do another line, what you say you meet me down on heartattack and
vine.

see that little jersey girl in the see-through top, with the peddle pushers
sucking on a soda pop, well i bet she's still a virgin but it's only twenty-
five 'til nine, you can see a million of 'em on heartattack and vine.

better off in iowa against your scrambled eggs, than crawling down cahuenga
on a broken pair of legs, you'll find your ignorance is blissful every goddamn
time, your're waitin' for the rtd on heartattack and vine.

I think there is not an equal division of labour here :D I think you like this song in all its versions, yes? How popular is Gotye now since you first posted? Wow. See, the world is an oyster :D

Don't know what you mean, the guy on the right absolutely MAKES that song... and yeah, Gotye's come a long way. I choose to take all credit for that by posting his clip here first.

Credit without recompense. Ah it is the way of modern commerce indeed.

Say, here's a fun one that might not be particularly known overseas... these guys are currently unsigned, but this is a fun, catchy little ditty with a message....

My dogs are barking, there must be someone around
My dogs are barking, there must be someone around
I got my hammer ringin’, pretty baby, but the nails ain’t goin’ down

Bob Dylan, Summer Days

OK this is a long one…. And involves several songs

I was listening to the song the Pretender by the Foo Fighters yesterday

and I heard the line

“So who are you? Yeah who are you?” and I asked myself that question and to be honest, I couldn’t answer it, yeah I am likely getting to be a bit overly philosophical.

Last night, for the first time in ages I had a pretty good Martial Arts workout and it felt great. But while on the stationary bike I took out the workout disk I have been using and popped in Rush Counterparts and the song stick it out hit me

Stick It Out"
Trust to your instincts
If it's safely restrained
Lightning reactions
Must be carefully trained

Heat of the moment
Curse of the young
Spit out your anger
Don't swallow your tongue

Stick it out
Don't swallow the poison
Spit it out
Don't swallow your pride
Stick it out
Don't swallow your anger
Spit it out
Don't swallow the lies

Natural reflex
Pendulum swing
You might be too dizzy
To do the right thing

Trial under fire
Ultimate proof
Moment of crisis
Don't swallow the truth

Stick it out
Don't swallow the poison
Spit it out
Don't swallow your pride
Stick it out
Don't swallow your anger
Spit it out
Don't swallow the lies
Don't swallow the lies

Each time we bathe our reactions
In artificial light
Each time we alter the focus
To make the wrong moves seem right

You get so used to deception
You make yourself a nervous wreck
You get so used to surrender
Running back to cover your neck

This got me thinking of an old Chuck Norris Quote

Men are like steel. When they lose their temper, they lose their worth

And I have been losing my temper a lot lately, particularly at work, and what do you know…I’m angry and at work…go figure…. I still can’t answer the original question, but I’m working on it and this leads me to a questions form another Foo Fighters song Walk that I heard this morning “Where do I begin?”

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4PkcfQtibmU Sorry the system will not let me add this video link and I am frustrated enough today so jsut click the link and it will take you there..it won't let me clear the formating on this line either so....I quit

.. that I can answer… I begin here……ok, I’m Done….

And to quote an old friend of mine after the Metallica concert for Ride the Lightning many many years ago
I FEEL BETTER NOW!!!

@X-S, Our mindsets are seldom simple and complex reasons and behaviours are usually stacked one on the other and so to unravel some clever questioning is usually needed. I would not even presume to start and but I hope you find what is psychological power-source for your anger. When this is accurately identified then attempts can be made to hit that killswitch :).

Meanwhile, thank you for the Foos. And I really like Stick It Out. Rush have their moments too I think even if this was past their "best before" date! :)

For a time this song was my favourite lyric ever :)

Heard this driving in today and it gave me a bit of a flashback to the days of the primordial Xue Sheng, my big old Buick, dark bars, and trying real hard to get into trouble while at the same time trying to avoid it. It also once again reminded my how Martial Arts kept me out of jail.... a bit of a flashback moment

It is a perfect pop song for certain I am sure I have posted it here more than once too! After keeping such crazy close backing vocal I think Merry Clayton did her own version some years after. And you were in jail or close to it? I hope you were not up to no good huh? I wonder how your MA kept you away from incarceration?

And you were in jail or close to it?

The path I was on was heading me in that direction but I did not end up there.... I did have more than my share of run ins with the police and ended up in court once but not jail. And I owe a lot to my Jujutsu Sensei for me not ending up behind bars.
