Hey Jenna, know this one:

Headbangers and leather
Sparks flying in the middle of night
It al comes together
When they shoot out the lights..... yeah

50,000 watts of power
And it's pushing overload
The beast is ready to devour

This one is an oldie but a goodie. It still gets me pumped up

Based on our conversation from another thread this one should be easy

"Wheel of Fortune", Sally Ride, heavy metal, suicide
Foreign debts, homeless vets, AIDS, crack, Bernie Goetz
Hypodermics on the shores, China's under martial law
Rock and roller cola wars, I can't take it anymore

Hey ackks10, that is a hard clue. White lace and feathers, goodness. It must be late 60s? Prog, hippie stuff? I could only guess Genesis or Yes would be all I would know? Maybe if you hum it I will see if I know it, ha! :D Nope, I give up :(

ok it was from Emerson Lake and Palmer,, Lucky Man, it was the 70's, i could keep going,

White lace and feathers
They made up his bed
A gold covered mattress
On which he was laid

see if this helps :)

OMG! I recognize it...it's old as dirt...I think anyway...something like "Oh what a lucky man he was..." Is that it?? Not sure ...

DOH! Must've been posting about the same time. LOL

Anyway...AH! This is on right now and one of my fav's. Should be pretty easy to recognize

This microphone explodea, shattering
The molds
Ya eighter drop tha hits like de la "O" or get tha
{expletive} off tha commode
Wit tha sure shot, sure ta make tha
Bodies drop
Drop an don't copy yo, don't call this
A co-opt
Terror rains drenchin', quenchin' tha thirst of
Tha power dons
That five sided fist-a-gon
Tha rotten sore on the face of mother earth gets
Bigger
Tha triggers cold empty ya purse
They rally round tha family
With pockets full of shells
Weapons not food, not homes, not shoes
Not need, just feed tha war canibal animal
I walk tha corner to tha rubble that used to be a
Library
Line up to tha mind cemetery
What we don't know keeps tha contracts alive an
Movin'
They don't gotta burn tha books they just remove 'em
While arms warehouses fill as quick as tha cells
Rally round tha family, pockets full of shells
Rally round tha family
With pockets full of shells
Bulls on parade

Sammy H I know that!! :D Haha man I am there, yes :D And were you a VH fan too??? Aw and you had to go and cut off all your super-high coiffed HM locks? Well since I got your quiz, you have to get mine though this is an easy one :) My life story paraphrased *sobs*
My heart's like an open book
For the whole world to read
Sometimes nothing
Keeps me together at the seams

Haha, I would never have known what the words were and but I remember the rock and roller cola wars, line – Billy Joel, yes? :)

OK, you have challenged me to a duel sir :D I shall choose my weapon and it is.. guessing the next line, mwah :) And you must get the artist EXACTLY correct else I shall decree victory in this duel and claim all your land from here to that field over there :)
But if this ever changing world in which we live in

Hey C_C ah that is too easy and plus you left the title in the bottom :) That is the unmistakable patter of the lovely Zack dela Rocha, haha :) Do I get to pick the big fluffy dog at the back there? :D

Hey can you tell me the missing words which are also the title for this song?? Without looking. No cheating, I see you there with your Googlefingers poised :D One of my fav all time songs :)
Someone falls to pieces sleeping all alone
Someone kills the pain
Spinning in the silence
To finally drift away
Someone gets excited in a chapel yard
Catches a bouquet
Another lays a dozen white roses on a grave
And to ____ ______ is all that you can do
To ____ ______ is all that you can do

You've got big ball
but i got the biggest balls of all

I know this is easy but all I could think of at the moment.

Haha, I will only answer on condition that you sing it loud wherever you are now :D And you have to do it properly with the proper posh voice too :)

AC/DC of course! :)

Well, I do believe that would be the Crue. Great encore song on their Dr. Feelgood tour.
Home Sweet Home.
I'll come up with one after my meeting.

:D You chaps have been taking a stroll though my musical 'history' it seems .

Today tho', I'm feeling in sombre mood and this lyric encapsulated it for me this morning:

"Every day I'm more disappointed
By the world and I'm losing my faith
We made the hell that we have to live
Another universal truth
We keep on asking the same kind of questions
We keep on fighting the same type of wars"

Okay, J. Just to counter the somewhat romantic sentiments of my last one, here is a slightly less-than joyous ode to the meetings and partings we all endure and seek.

She turned away, what was she looking at?
She was a sour girl the day that she met me.
Hey, what are you looking at?
She was a happy girl the day that she left me.

What would you do?
What would you do if I followed you?
What would you do if I follow?

Don't turn away, what are you looking at?
He was so happy on the day that he met her.
Say, what are you looking at?
I was a superman, but looks are decieving
The rollercoaster rides a lonely one
I'd pay a ransom note to stop it from steaming
Hey, what are you looking at?
She was a teenage girl when she met me...

What would you do?..

The girl's got reasons, they all got reasons...

What would you do?
What would you do if I followed you?
What would you do if I follow?

Hey, what are you looking at?
She was a happy girl the day that she left me,
The day that she left me.
She was a happy girl the day that she left me,
The day that she left me
The day that she left me...

A beautiful song from a desperately painful time.

Oh, and just for fun, especially when driving (and I had just baught my little convertible...)

Driving around, I got my baby and my top down,
Mary-go-round, I ride you for my love.
Throwin' me down in the backseat, undergound
I'm on the mound, I make it for my love...

Who (who) you talkin' to? Talk to me you!
Sound of music...

Makin' my way, I brake another LA day,
Time in the town, I need it fo rmy love,
My Chevrolet rollin' to another play day
This is the sound, I listen for my love

Who you talkin' to, talk to me you,
Sound of music...

I love you, swim through me
Good feelings, come to me!

Sought and I found a life of makin' my bloodsound
Do anything for the one I love,
Somethin profound, the face of God is in sensoround
I'm on the mound, I make it for my love

I love you... swim through me
Good feelings... come to me!

They're the full lyrics, shouldn't be too hard for you to find!

The only question is which version are you thinking about Paul McCartney of Guns N Roses. Although the Paul McCartney version was the themes song of the Roger Moore James Bond Film which has the same name as the song.

And I did actually know all of this without looking any further than my little demented brain... which if you really think about that is rather sad actually :D

Live and Let Die

i'm better with the old ones, what can i say:lfao:
here try this one

in and around the lake
Mountains come out of the sky
and they Stand there
One mile over we'll be there and we'll see you
Ten true summers we'll be there and
Laughing too
Twenty four before my love you'll see I'll be
There with you

Sweet song :) Ah no Suke, do not be sombre like that for too long. Here is something to get you on a more positive trajectory I hope, fingers crossed this lifts you a little maybe :) The music is so rousing sometimes I forget how good the lyric is :)
= Foo Fighters "Pretender"
Send in your skeletons
Sing as their bones go marching in... Again
The need you buried deep
The secrets that you keep are at the ready
Are you ready?

I'm finished making sense
Done pleading ignorance
That whole defense
Spinning infinity, but
The wheel is spinning me
It's never ending, never ending
Same old story

What if I say I'm not like the others?
What if I say I'm not just another one of your plays?
You're the pretender
What if I say that I'll never surrender?

Ah Chris you have no need to counter yourself for your romantic ideals. That is a poignant song indeed. I was not familiar at all and so thank you. I like hearing unfamiliar songs :)

Well I will not give you anything so heartbreaky and but I will give you a fav song from a year or so ago. I think this is beautiful. Even better, this vid is my fantasy, filmed driving a Ferrari around dawnlit Paris at ridiculous speed and clocking up all kinds of traffic violations. Lovely ;) Put it to fullscreen and throttle your chair, ha!
= Snow Patrol "Open Your Eyes" Hope u like :)

And speaking of driving, goodness, I could not listen to RHCP when I was driving (maybe it is a convertible thing). I would end up travelling a little fast, ha! Here is a poignant little driving song for sticking the Stuttgart Sling up the M25 at 3am. Only when speed limits permit I mean :D
= Pendulum "Granite" (clever fellows Pendulum. Savvy Australians understand where the action is at and set sail for England. Best way really ;))

Far too clever XS. I would give you a more difficult one and but then you will only cheat :) Ah I am just joking. Can you guess this? Song title is next line??
Welcome to your life
Theres no turning back
Even while we sleep
We will find you
Acting on your best behaviour
Turn your back on mother nature

Ah nothing wrong at all with older songs. I think my itunes is stacked with music older than I am myself :) I was born of the 80s and grew up in the 90s - times were hard musically :D Reel me back to Gershwin American in Paris and I would be happy :) I love that era especially.

BUT... You have stymied me in my unblemished record again my friend.. Grrr! :D Would I be likely to get it if you gave me clues? I do not know. If I guessed ELO this time would I be close at all??? :)

:D Yes, one of my favourites in a roundabout way, ack

{That's a cryptic clue, Jenna (well, not all that cryptic I guess :eek:)}

You won this round

But here is one for you

he spent his life
a silent sentinel
for all to fear
he walks, he talks, he thinks, he feels,
but no dare go near
he takes in all he sees
nothing escapes his gaze
and when he strikes
he strikes for right
a glorious sight.

Here's a good one:

I'm a mean machine
I'm the one you don't wanna meet
Middle name is trouble
I'm danger in the streets

Motors in overdrive
I've got the pedal to the floor
Never get enough
Always coming back for more

This is one of my favs!

Arghh! You are all making a game of my lovely lyrics! This is turning into an inquisition!! And nobody expects the inquisition! Not me anyways :) Ok so

@Ackks10 and Sukerkin, the song is called Roundabout, ha! Yes I recall the title. I am not sure who though. We are still in the same ballpark though: stretched out AoR proggy stuff??? Ah, I am beat with this, pffft. I give up. Again!! Help me here!!

@Xue Sheng, ah see I though with the Billy Joel thing you might have known Everybody Wants To Rule The World and but I see you are not that way inclined at all. I did not see you as a Twisted Sister follower at all, huh. Ah I am not a follower either and but I have that song on a metal compilation thing.. I never forget lyrics - of all the stupid things to remember - I forget where I put my keys and my sneakers in the mornings and but never lyrics, pffft... It is indeed a cruel world :)

DESTROOOEEEYA! DESTROOOEEEYA! :D

@JadecloudAlchemist.. Ahhhhh you got a mellow slowbeat my friend :) Thank you. I needed that *waves away smoke* And but Collie as the cancer cure? Hmmm.. hippies' propaganda, no? Ah I think our Mr Miller there would be advocating anorexia as a weight loss tool. I guess at that level of chill all things must seem feasible though. Don't pay the Collie man, I say :) Just say no, ha! Thank you for your lyric. What else you got in your ears my alchemical friend??

@just2kicku.. Hey Joe :) Aw man you have got me good with that one. I have no clue at all! *shakes fist* Motors in overdrive, pedal to the floor, now that is what I am talking bout! :D Oh, um, maybe somebody like Poison?? Am I right?? Calling a motor a mean machine defo puts it in the 80s I think, glammy stuff, something along those lines, no?? :) Awww, now I have failed my task. I need to go find consolation.. where did I put that stash (chocolate I mean - I have to hide it here :D)
