I found this story fascinating and I loved the lessons this master has found to be true.

I have have often heard variations on this theme in karate. "Rei," which means bow, also means respect. Respect between Master and student, between karateka in general, enables learning.

Learning requires communication. Communication requires mutual respect. Everything begins with respect.

A very well written autobiographical article. I was exposed to capoeira as a teenager. One look at it and I knew - There ain't no way I can do this! I'm pretty sure I was correct in my analysis and never regretted it, though it is a very cool art with a fascinating history, as many MA's seem to have.
