Palgwe forms

My club does palgwe, but unless you are changing clubs I don't think it really matters. When I was asking a Korean friend about the difference between palgwe and taeguek he said that with the taeguek forms there seemed to be a defence for each attack, where the plagwe is not structured in the same way. If this is true it would certainly back what troubleenuf has said. Also I have heard of some clubs that use taeguek until black and then progress on to palgwe.

We do palgue because it's what our master learned when he started studying TKD in Korea. I guess over the years they have gone in and out of favor. We aren't associated with any real organization so it's not important that we do what's considered correct at the time. We occasionally go to tournaments and no one seems to mind that we do palgue forms.
