It's a sad day. I have been ordered to move my Terry Pratchett collection into storage. I can't help but feel that my dune books are next. I put it to you, ladies and gentlemen of the jury, do these seem to you to be the possessions of a sexually active individual?

Dear UPS,

The above parcel has been scheduled to be delivered today for at least week or so and so I made sure I was home all day. As is all too common with UPS, on the delivery day, the time of arrival gets pushed back and back until 7pm and then all of a sudden, it is rescheduled for two days time when I may not be able to be at home. Wouldn’t it be better for you to be realistic about your delivery times? The irritation comes from apparent competence on your part, only to have it disproved.

Last October I was to receive an item after Border Force scrutiny. The item was worth well in excess of £4000 and it was delivered to the correct house number, propped up in the porch unattended, but in the adjacent road, necessitating the elderly occupier to complete the delivery to my house!

Your service is well below par and I feel the need to air my displeasure with it. I now ask retailers to avoid using UPS if at all possible and I post regularly on consumer websites highlighting your poor service.

Been off the sauce for a while now, and I had no idea that green tea could be such an exquisite pleasure. I've started really getting into it and buying bancha and gunpowder green and the like.
It lowers your risk of death from any source too. If you lower that risk enough, I assume it makes you immortal.

Get yourself some ‘genmaicha’. It’s green tea with roasted brown rice in it, giving it a subtle smokey fragrance. It’s delicious. The brand I’ve linked has a little matcha added too 🤤

Apparently Japanese people take it on holiday with them like Brits take PGTips and baked beans

That’s brilliant news. It’s amazing how quickly our sensory array recovers from what is essentially abuse! 80% of of the range of our taste sensation comes from our smell (olfactory bulb/nerve endings) so it’s likely it these cells that have recovered from having toxic smoke wafted over them over the years. You should try smelling pleasant things like foods, fragrances (Japanese incense), coffee, tea etc and enjoy the sensation.

I am an ‘olfactory person’ so I like to indulge in incense and beautiful fragrances. 🤤

Thank you all for being so nice and supportive

Idea: Moses Maimonides' guide for the perplexed should have a companion volume entitled 'perplexity for the certain'. Far more damage has been done by those with rock solid convictions than by people who weren't sure over the centuries.

The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves and wiser people are full of doubt. Bertrand Russell

We have several camellia sinensis ( tea plant ) bushes on our property. They grow really well here. I dont drink tea often but do enjoy an occasional cup made with leaves directly from the bush. You can go deep down the rabbit hole learning how to dry and process leaves from the same plant to get different tea.
Aw, now that sounds awesome. One of my life goals is to create a tea garden with a camelia sinensis in a miniature glasshouse with all the various jasmine and things that people add to tea and a little fire pit where you can experiment with creating the perfect cup of tea.
