I'm just going to say it, a couple posts I read today reminded me of this

After many years on MT and various martial arts web forums, IMO, those who are most adamant at how deadly they are or vehemently post about the superiority of their martial art or a martial art or their superiority to all others.... likely never trained any sort of martial art in their lives...or if they did it was an extraordinarily short time. AKA the armchair martial artist... but they've seen a lot on TV and YouTube though
Hey, I also watched David Carradine on every episode of Kung Fu, like two or three times.

We watched the Adam project yesterday. What a surprising movie. Had no expectations and really enjoyed it. If you’re looking for something fun to watch, I recommend it. .

I liked Kung fu okay, but we usually watched the Rifleman, and Wild Wild West.

And Hee Haw. My sense of humor is easy to understand. It’s 5 parts Monty Python, 4 parts Steve Martin, and 1 part Minnie Pearl.

The Night of the Deadly Blossom.

Saw this, and reminded me of the talk here about @donald1 trying ginger with his sushi

I watched the Rifleman as a little kid, when it first came on. Character actors were guest stars all the time, including David Carradine's father, John.

Chuck The Rifleman Conners was an interesting guy, to say the least. Before being an actor he played professional baseball (Dodgers, Cubs) and played in the NBA (Celtics). That's pretty damn cool.

Watched it with my grandparents in syndication in the 70s.

I still have to get that collection :) The irony here is that it was pretty much the show that got me into martial arts
We used to leave the gym on Thursday nights, race to our buddy's apartment, get into home made stretch racks we had made, have bottles of cold water at hand, and smoke great big joints as we watched Kung Fu.

While we enjoyed the fight scenes, we were completely enthralled every time Masters Po and Ahn spouted wisdom to Kwai Chang Caine.

When you can snatch the roach from my hand weedhopper, then you will be ready to leave the monastery.

Jay Tonkin was training in our gym for a bit. Nice guy.

He was one of the guys I asked about whether you can teep that front leg.

I was just staying up to watch, I was about 11 years old, living in west Peabody, and just starting jiujutsu

and, by the way, as I type this, I’m in downtown Boston

That's where my heart is.

I wish I could drink right now....
Yesterday my Sister-in-law (henceforth SIL) called. her kid (32ish) is in county jail awaiting trial - or hearings.
He called her to put money into the account of a different dude. 'He works in the commissary to the tune of 40 bucks a week.
So we tried to explain to her that there isn't a cute little shop where a dude works, never mind that he showed up on the mug shots. something about 'contraband in prison and failure to register as sex offender (rape 2, I looked.)
"Watch 60 days in!" Hubby told her. "Then you see how this works"
They are either running a scam, or kiddo got himself into debt.
I am sure 'failure to appear' among other things. I am guessing he will do some real time for this latest cluster. He's a druggy (what a dang shame, He was such a cute kid! Could be a top contractor.....alas....the lifestyle, can't believe a word he says)

Alas, now of course SIL is worried sick that these latest dealings are going to get him hurt. it's not like you could cold call the jail, or ask him directly on the phone.
