Rural area, with lots of land. As in, we own half the block. One neighbor owns the other half.
So we're on a septic system. That means the health department is involved, because septic systems are classified as a on-site sewage treatment system. They need to make sure that we're not going to be polluting the groundwater, especially since there is a reservoir within walking distance of our new house.
