You'll love it! It's funny in a lot of places - in a very dry "King" sort of way. :)
I liked Rita Mae browns book on writing, although I thought she was nuts in a couple of places - like it being a must to know Greek and Latin before writing....the bookshelves would be awfully empty if that mattered one bit.

Speaking of Stephen King - his book "On writing" is one of my favorite things ever. There is a great audio version of it - narrated by author. Loved it!

While mentioning the best, King's On Writing, might as well mention the worst. Story, by Robery McKee. A pompous, hateful man who purposely uses hundreds of words that just about anybody has to grab a dictionary and look up.

The one good thing about the book is the hate it will raise in your soul. You'll never knew you had it in you. It's so fricken' bad it's almost worth the read.

The 50 Shades of How To Write?

Oldest got to NYC...but before he left.... I was told not to worry..... because...he had a flashlight.....

And we all know how important a flashlight is in a blizzard:rolleyes:

That's borderline "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" - with a flashlight instead of a towel as the universal... everything in an emergency.

I am glad I am not the only one ripping her graying hair out, trying to get through to Jr....

Is that a guy thing, or do girls do this stupid sh....tuff, too?
Manuela Dunn Mascetti talks a lot about this in The Song of Eve - a history of matriarchy and female archetypes beyond maid, mother, crone. One of the common traits between the many vastly different archetypes she covers (from a whore to a celibate priestess) is the constant frustration with the "guy thing". Girls do stupid stuff too - I've done my share between the ages of 19 and 30 - but, apparently, not to that extent. The historic record of the "guy thing" is a lot more extensive.

He might have said fleshlight....

He might have said fleshlight....

Nah, it was an e-mail...it was Flashlight...he also called after he got there to tell me he also took a coat, snow boots and a snow shovel...... of course I told him he should probably take boots and a coat.....just glad he listened.... didn't take the Christmas tree decorations off the tree like he was supposed to before he left though......but then...he DID have a flashlight after all....

My Youngest was going around the house laughing all night yesterday waving flashlight saying...take that storm....and "what, a blizzard...good thing I have my.....FLASHLIGHT!!" I'm guessing he will be hearing about this for years to come

He might have said fleshlight....

Months back....

We get information a couple are staying at a casino and selling meth from their room. We set up surveillance and get a search warrant and snatch them up when they come out of the room.

As we searched the room, one of our agents found a fleshlight . He picks it up not knowing what it is and puts it up to his eye, looking through it like a kaleidoscope, and asked what is this.

The male arrested said its my fleshlight. The agent asked what is a fleshlight? The guy answered it’s a pocket ***** ......agent just dropped it saying mother*****r.

We (including the arrestees) all almost fell over laughing at him.

We still laugh at him about the fleshlight kaleidoscope. :D

That description has almost convinced me to read it.

Currently 17F with wind chills from -10 to -35...and it is snowing with 2 to 4 inches expected...gonna be a fun ride home this evening...ad the next few days it is supposed to be colder
Ugh... be careful out there.

I just wish someone'd sent me a memo North Carolina was being moved over to Nebraska. :)

I checked, and we're colder today (and this weekend) than the expected weather for Casper, WY. That's not right.

Well I am currently experiencing the weather of upstate NY while living in upstate NY...only problem is that it appears to be the usual weather we get in February, so it is a month early

and with that said I mush now go outside and brave the elements
