Paulo GN Rubio is an exceptional teacher, articulate and sounds so credible too!
I loved his ‘pre-attack indicators’ and how quickly he made Jesse appear competent. I wish he had a book of his ideas that I could read on the toilet. That was the best twenty minutes I’ll spend today. Excellent.

That’s really interesting. I believe Rubio runs courses…I thought the same thing.
As a young black belt I learned what I thought was Defense against a knife. It was from my first teacher who was a phony. I even taught some of what he taught me when I started teaching the advanced class.
I’ve said many a thankful prayer that I never got anyone killed. I mean that sincerely.
Years later I was taught by an excellent instructor in knife fighting. I spent years training with him and a group of great people.
The knife was the first and only Martial Art weapon I was ever capable with. For some reason it felt right to me from the get go.
I know what a good instructor in edged weapons looks like and how well he teaches. I’d love to meet and train with that guy.
I liked the "reverse blink" exercise. I call the general idea "seeing without looking." "Seeing" is a single event, a snapshot (like a blink) whereas "looking" is a process. Similar to a point compared to a line. The exercise Master Rubio demonstrated is a great way to develop this snapshot seeing. There are couple of other ways of "seeing without looking" that are more related to a spiritual awareness, but this exercise can improve reaction time.Paulo GN Rubio is an exceptional teacher, articulate and sounds so credible too!

Those ‘pre-attack indicators’ could be used to unbalance an opponent…intimidate him a little into making mistakes.

Astonishing. Perhaps bladed weapons are an effective counter to firearms.agree
Once worked as part of an armed team responsible for picking up and transporting money to banks in a semi-armored vehicle. We were taught, an attacker with a knife can cover a distance of 21 feet (approximately 6.4 meters) in the time it takes for an average person to draw and fire their weapon.
Yes, you have been recently. Age-related curmudgeonliness, I assume.BORING
BORING
That means I don’t understand even more than I understood that I don’t understand, understand? I’m trying my best, which is what makes it so sad.People often find things boring that they don’t understand. That’s okay, buddy, it’s not your fault.
