But, to me, getting out your door and walking into the dojo is more than half the battle. Once you’re there and ready to go, the rest is pretty simple. I didn’t say “easy” but it is simple.
Showing up is most of the battle: Work, Gym, Dojo, Life. Even though one may have the desire to do something, it does take will power to show up to be able do it. It seems to me to be two separate behaviors, like a cat's stalking and actually killing are two distinct instincts. But once the 1st is accomplished, the 2nd comes easier.

There are 2 different kinds of people. Those who

1. force themselves to do.
2. enjoy of doing.

IMO, 1 < 2.

Only people in category 2 will train MA for the rest of their life.

On a more serious note, discipline is a complex issue. I've always enjoyed the discipline of getting up early and doing regular exercise and practice. It seems to keep my life on an even keel. As a teenager it gave my life direction, and as an adult it keeps me looking younger than I am, but basically I do it for the sheer joy of feeling my body in action
