In Canada no less

no it isnt different, it is public property and tax dollars being used for one religion and NOT others, if that is in fact what is happening.....

Different. Xtians don't have a mandatory prayer during school hours.

having a 'foot stomping temper tantrum day' again, aren't you....

a) It's in Canada
b) I am sure if Christians had certain hours of the day they had to observe prayers in we'd hear about it
c) The work week is scheduled around the Christian believe cycle, thus Sundays have limited service and no school....
d) the other major religion that I am aware of with stringent prayer rules, well, Canuck is better equipped to talk about that....but it's generally on Saturday....
e) imagine the outcry if a function were to fall on a Sunday...you would see plenty of complains if prayer was not permitted.

Observant jews pray 3 times a day. Morning, afternoon and evening. All thoe times are relative to sunrise/sunset. And they all fall on a certain number of hours. What usually happens is that we pray early in the morning. Then do the afternoon prayer as late as possible, followed immediately by the evening prayer. It is not quite as demanding as the Muslim schedule. Saturday is just subject to a lot of other rules regarding what is usually (badly) translated as 'work'.
