Movie fight scenes are targeted to the 13 - 18 year old, male, action movie audience. They're not supposed be anything near reality. They're supposed to be kind of cool....to the target audience.

Kenpo done well doesn't look good on screen.

I get that. I'd go so far as to say that most martial arts done well don't look good on screen. Efficient and effective movement that end the fight quickly do not make for flashy fight scene.
