I don't train as much as I'd like to. I teach three times a week, and get in some solo training time before classes two of those days (the other is an early morning, and I'll be damned if I'm leaving my coffee one minute early!). Lately, I've had very little training time - having some tendinitis issues (just had blood drawn yesterday to rule out anything systemic) that keep me from being very active. Right now I have some in a lower leg that keeps me from running or even significant hiking, some in both elbows to reduce much lifting or hitting, and in a rotator cuff to reduce what I can do on the mats.
But all that is only reducing what I wasn't doing enough of, anyway. I get back to my old school once or twice a month, but end up helping teach as much as training. When I have project time near another school in SC, I get more training time there. With my travel for work and a business to work on, I haven't been able to see clear to taking on something new (have been eyeing a gym that has both boxing and BJJ). At the very least, once I get my injuries under control, I need to get back to fitness training and spending more time on my own doing bag work and such.
So, the short answer is, "Yes, but not nearly enough."
Jeez, that's weird. What Gpseymour said above in post #38 exactly describes where I'm at right now... Teaching 3-4 times a week, not getting in much time for my own technical training, and I am completely off my fitness routine due to tendonitis and other health problems affecting my knees, elbows and, especially, my ankles. One specialist said I've got bone spurs intruding into my Achilles tendons. He discussed a nasty-sounding surgical procedure and a long period of recovery, but suggested just trying to manage the pain for now.
Oh, and I have also been eying a BJJ gym ...to try something new, but not unless I can get past my current joint and tendon issues!
