Hey, just a question. While I've been injured and trying to quit two bad habits, I've been taught a little tai chi by a friend. Please don't judge me for not actually attending a tai chi class- your MA training in my view is not complete unless it includes at least a few drills that were taught to you by 'just some guy'. Anyway, I'd like to find the names in Chinese and English of the exercises he taught me.
The first is this thing he referred to as the 'hundred year movement' where you bend forwards with your arms behind your back, and then straighten up taking your arms over and behind your head, then repeat.
The second is really just holding your arms out beside you with your hands bent upwards at a 90 degree angle. If it helps, he mumbled something about a phoenix
The other one is really just slightly bending your knees with a straight back and holding that position for bloody ages, which is more challenging than it seems. Again, something about a dragon
It's entirely possible the dude was delusional or a charlatan, but if these are real tai chi exercises could you please let me know their proper names? Thank you.
