Biomechanical analysis of striking

Thought I'd share some videos from one of my students breaking down the biomechanics of striking in various combat sports. To be clear, this is not based on what I've taught him in BJJ. It's based on his professional training as a physical therapist and years of martial arts training before he started studying with me.

Young vs old George Foreman

Overhand right

Rodtang vs Superlek

If anyone likes these enough to want more, here's a link to his YouTube channel: Combat Athlete Physio

Would be interested to know what he thinks of the "biomechanics" used for what is considered "internal" or "external"
approches ?

Not looking for validation or proof.
Only consistencies among the different approaches and within the approaches themselves.

If it's something outside the scope of his work....thanks anyway

kind regards

Patrick is interested in looking at the body dynamics used in different styles. (Although he currently has a backlog of projects to work on and so probably won't get around to analyzing any particular art any time soon.) However I don't believe he thinks in terms of external vs internal, soft vs hard, etc. He has a doctorate in physical therapy and is looking specifically at the physics of what is going on anatomically in the body as a fighter moves and executes specific techniques. (He also has videos on how the body adapts to specific forms of conditioning training, based on the scientific literature.)

That was terrific. What a great job he did.
