Those drones are crazy. The media has tried to convince people it's all conspiracy theories, or people not knowing what planes look like.
But I've got a friend who got a phd in political psychology, is quite literally the person I know that'd be least likely sucked into any conspiracy theories, lives over an hour from the nearest airport, reporting seeing these drones. He's taken videos of them and shared them. I live less than a mile from an airport and know what low flying airplanes look like, i also know what helicopters look like, and it looks like none of those. It's also way more 'traffic' than any air traffic controller would allow in an area.
Four explanations come to mind:
1: Its the government doing some sort of surveillance that they don't want us to know. I don't think this is likely, simply because when they realized the press it was getting (and they did try to downplay it) they would've stopped it,or figured out anither option for what they're doing.
2: it's a foreign government getting information. This makes sense in terms of motive, they're gathering some sort of intel on bases in the area. But it's a widespread enough area that confuses he-i'd expect it to only be by the military bases.
3: it's a private citizen/private company. But I cant see what their goal would be or how they'd be stopping the govt from figuring out the origin and ordering a cease and desist.
4: it's aliens. Which may or may not even exist. And I'd completely write off this option, if it weren't for multiple congressional hearings over the last year acknowledging their existence. So that's my guess.
