Its pure striking, no clinching allowed, no grappling, no running allowed. Maneuvering is ok.

Basically headbutts, elbows, knees, punches, kicks, stomps and soccer kicks would be allowed. Groin kicks and strikes are allowed if its small men vs large men and weight classes will not exist.

But no wrestling, no BJJ or ground grappling, and no safety clinching like in boxing and no running like in boxing. Its got to be action packed brutal striking till someone gets KOed.

Steroids are allowed. In the same way as they are in bodybuilding ie officially not but no tests are done.

So its like MMA with no grappling or boring tactics and less rules.

Require combatants to wear clothes, groin kicks for all, and no protective gear (well, maybe cups, for obvious reasons.) Also, allow grabbing, pins, locks, and throws, maybe with the stipulation of "not going to the ground" being a goal, if we want to keep it striking/standup-centric.

Oh, and, don't keep score! Let it just be for amateurs who just want to learn by comparing skill.

Oh, also, allow one of the combatants to just walk off if his opponent is not engaging him!

Oh man, this sport inventing is fun stuff! :D

No, it's not new. I think you mat have the boxing people annoyed with the 'running' bit though.
Cirdan, not even ski jumping and cross country skiing?

No. Bluntly, it sounds idiotic, and designed by someone who doesn't really have much of an understanding of what any of the topics they've attempted to bring up (not just here, but across the forum) are actually about. I mean, by reading the last line, you've basically "invented" this "sport" (hmm..) as you think that MMA is "boring"??? From your profile, you claim to train in MMA, but haven't had a fight yet… tell you what… after you have your first fight, see if you're grateful for the slower action in some tactics… until then, this is fantasy.

You can see the sort of stuff proposed in a great deal of drunken brawls on our street. They don't wrestle or do BJJ because they are too pished. They can't clinch either as they tend to fall over. The most boring thing on earth next to golf.

You don`t want one of these for christmas then.

I did watch this, back in the 70's....

Watched this, too, back in the 70'sss....:lfao:\\.\\Still do, from time to time.

So, I can "soccer-kick" a midget in the groin? Cool! :lfao:

Tests are "done" in pro-bodybuilding. See for yourself.

I'd only use a golf club as a weapon, there you go - another 'sport' invented, hitting each other with golf clubs.....

I'd watch that sport if you were fighting in it. Probably sit ringside.

Sorry, you didn't invent that. Have you ever heard of 'milling', as practiced during training by the British Parachute Regiment? You're not allowed to block or evade, you have to just take it. The winner is judged to be whoever seemed to be advancing forward the most, regardless of how many punches got thrown by either competitor.

Another vote for Full Contact Golf. But we didn't invent that, either...

No I wouldn`t watch it. Not into sports except maybe women`s beach volley :D

What about football, senseless violence, runningback intercepts the pass and fades right then bam! Like a freight train to a bmw he just got tackled

Or even rugby. Like what the Americans call football, but without the body armour and fewer rules.

Real Men (tm) play Hurling. A full contact combination of hockey and baseball.
