yea it is but for some reason we tone down teh curriculum for the children and then when they turn 13 they have to reapply i think for blackbelt

The "Poom" belt is not a "Junior Black Belt". Poom rank is a level unique to persons under 16 who have met the time and physical requirements for Dan rank, but are not old enough.
Poom falls inbetween gup and dan, hence the half gup half dan color scheme.
"Almost a black belt" would be more accurate than "Junior"

Yeah, my school's "Jr. BB" is anyone under 16, the "kids system"(under 12) is different then then 13+ students
