If you enjoy words as I do this is a great site! It's not commercial but is very entertaining as well as informative. They send out a weekly newsletter on Saturdays which I admit is a highlight of the week, although it says English words from a British perspective the contibutors are from all parts of the English speaking world.

Love of words: lexiphilia

It's like necrophilia but legal and far less messy :D

Sorry, couldn't resist.

I'll have to check out this site, though, sounds interesting.

Nice one!
I find it nice that others share the amusement of people writing what they think they mean only to have it come out as meaning something else, my English teacher at school was always on at us to write precisely. There's some good examples at the end of this weeks newsletter.

Giddy I am! Also a-drool! But unless they use magic words like fart, I'm afraid I'm excessively obtuse for such a fine thing.

Oops.

I thought I was making up the word "lexiphilia" (from the root of "lexicon" and the suffix -philia). Shoulda known better :)

Turns out it already exists (and does, in fact, mean "love of words") but the proper spelling is "lexophilia."
