Officer Flagged Down, Delivers Baby on Side of Road

CORAM, NY – Baby Johnell’s unusual entrance into the world – in the front seat of a car parked near a Ruby Tuesday’s restaurant in Coram – didn’t lessen his mother’s joy or the relief of the Suffolk police officer who helped welcome him.
“He’s probably going to be a fast one,” joked Roshelle Ross, 25, mother of Johnell, age 1 day, from her hospital room yesterday. “He’ll probably like cars.”
Ross, who gave birth Friday after a lightning-fast labor en route to the hospital, called the help she received from Suffolk police and paramedics in the roadside birth “awesome.”

Another thread talked about how an officer had ticketed a couple and here this officer made the delivery... also saved the baby's life
Naso, 33, whose own two sons were born by Caesarean section, said he remained calm throughout the birth – but felt a surge of anxiety when he saw that the baby was born with a thin layer of amniotic tissue known as a caul or veil around his head.
Big Hurrah! And "Job Well Done!"

Aye, an entry in the Good Guys account book there .

I love stories like this—it's so heartening to be reminded that the world is the sort of place where this kind of thing can happen, and end very well.
