Sparring Gear recommended?

I found a site about IDM so you don't have to worry about that..
but I think I might get both .. cloth and adidas.. sorta switch around lol
see what I like and stuff like that..

btw, how often does your son have to change the cloth guards?

I'm not allowed to get cloth or shin/instep type gear.. -____-
*sigh*
