McGann was ok. I think if they'd given him a season or 2 he would have been decent. Heard the audio drama's with him are excellent. Also heard he's in the 50th, or one of the 2 lead in shorts.

Aye, nothing wrong with McGann's Doctor; it was just the Americanised writing that wrecked it. If they'd done a film written in the 'correct' (i.e. British sci-fi) style then maybe we would have had a 'resurrected' Dr. Who series much earlier than we did.

I've watched that clip 4x now. It's a shame McGann didn't get a year or 2 of his own. His attitude in the middle part seemed very Doctorish.

You have just *so* gone down in my estimation :lol:. Of course, Dr. Who and I have been constant companions since I was a boy, so I am highly biased .

Sarah Jane and Jon Pertwee's Doctor are *my* "Dr & Companion" pairing, as in the ones that were current when I was that pre-teen age that really counts for watching Dr. Who.

I just watched An Adventure in Space and Time, the drama about how Dr. Who came to be as a TV programme. As well as starring the luscious Jessica Raine (reason enough to watch it in my book ), it has some wonderful performances, especially David Bradley as William Hartnell. It's not a programme I expected to be so moving but it truly was.
