Pursue Happiness With Dilegence

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M8RvJ8N_MS8&feature=relmfu

Brent on “The Sparrow”:It’s about Susie Polay our accountant’s wife, who passed away of stomach cancer when we were recording the album. Her motto was pursue happiness with diligence, and that motto became the lyrics to the song. It’s such a pretty song, and it’s so sorrowful as well. It’s in her memory and for her husband Robert, to pass on her inspiration to the listener.
Pursue happiness with diligence.

You show respect and i respect you
You protect me, i protect you
And if you need a place to run to
Here’s a place you could come to

When you leave the beatn tracks you might find yourself inna
Situation where you feel fresh like a beginner
Join us bloodbrothers, spiritual winners
All you got to do is cut your thum and sing ya now:

Realize the good things - anytime
Thou you’ re back against the wall
Focus on the good things - anytime
Make the devil fall

You show respect and i respect you
You protect me, i protect you
And if you need a place to run to
Here’s a place were you could come to

Give me love and i will stand up strong
(a true warrior)
See me burn like an endless fire
But only you can make carry on
See the wind and the rain wanna make me die out
If i can’t trust your word - your story worth nothing
Once bitten twice shy - my soul get rotten
And know that you can’t get if you don’t give something
So never ever stop - you have to blaze my fire
Realize the good things - anytime
Thou you’ re back against the wall
Focus on the good things - anytime
Make the devil fall

Come in here
Dont stay there
Drop your bag
Relax your neck
When times were tough
You’ve taken care
I just react
Enjoy giving back
You gave me nuff things to share
Take what you like
Have roots
Water and wine
Soulfood feeds the mood
We are of the same tribe

These two songs, which I have not heard in years, in this order, on the same radio station, one right after the other, this morning, left me doing a lot of thinking

After an excelent lunch with my wife I went back to my parking lot and started walking back to my car I looked up and saw an interesting cloud that seemed to have twp prongs on it and all of a sudden the linked song started running thourgh my demented little noggin…. And then it started to rain…and I only had 2/10 of a mile left to walk to my office

Recent events reminded me this mosh pit classic...

You played yourself
Now you're pointin' fingers
How i've robbed and raped ya
Bruised and scraped ya
But those are just lies
Cause in your eyes
You've been victimized
It's how you size it up
You disguise it up
And try to make it look real
To cover up the low self esteem you feel
Introspection
And afterthought
Swimmin' in guilt's your favorite sport
But now you're caught up
In the undertow,
You never knew a man
Could sink so low
But now you know
Cause you're John Doe
In a black bag
A tag on your toe
I built the House
I felt the Pain
You're victimized
But got no one to blame

Just another victim
You're just another victim, kid
Just another victim
You're just another victim, kid

Here in this darkess that I lay,
Depression heavy in it's weigh,
And how my body aches to leave,
To sing it's final eulogy.

My sons I love you evermore,
And though the road beckons once more,
I see the damage that I've done,
And search for redemption.

But I am just a broken man,
Whose soul cries out to understand,
How the madness shatters me,
Upon the stage on bended knee,

I scream aloud at skies above,
That answer mute bereft in love,
I struggle not to fall from grace,
I sing the hyms of my disgrace.

We build Cathedrals to our pain,
Establish monuments to attain,
Freedom from all of the scars and the sins,
Lest we drown in the darkness within.

Mysteries forgotten chords,
I strum in vain to please the Lord,
But he has never answered me,
And faith has waned eternaly.

In empty men who pass along,
The woes of all religions wrong,
Now the shadowed veil it falls,
Heed the Clarion call.

So pray to music, build a shrine,
Worship in these desperate times
Fill your heart with every note,
Cherish it and cast afloat.

Cause God is in these clef and tone,
Salvation is found alone,
Haunted by it's melody,
Music, it will set you free.

(Let it set you free)

We build Cathedrals to our pain,
Establish monuments to attain,
Freedom from all of the scars and the sins,
Lest we drown in the darkness within.

MUSIC MY SAVIOR,
SAVE ME,
MUSIC MY SAVIOR,
SAVE ME,
MUSIC MY SAVIOR,
SAVE ME,
MUSIC MY SAVIOR,
SAVE ME

We build Cathedrals to our pain,
Establish monuments to attain,
Freedom from all of the scars and the sins,
Lest we drown in the darkness within.
