This ain't a song for the brokenhearted
No silent prayer for the faith departed
And I ain't gonna be just a face in the crowd
You're gonna hear my voice when I shout it out loud

It's my life
It's now or never
I ain't gonna live forever
I just wanna live while I'm alive

(It's my life)
My heart is like an open highway
Like Frankie said, "I did it my way"
I just wanna live while I'm alive
'Cause it's my life

This is for the ones who stood their ground
For Tommy and Gina who never backed down
Tomorrow's getting harder, make no mistake
Luck ain't even lucky, gotta make your own breaks

It's my life
And it's now or never
I ain't gonna live forever
I just wanna live while I'm alive

(It's my life)
My heart is like an open highway
Like Frankie said, "I did it my way"
I just wanna live while I'm alive
'Cause it's my life

You better stand tall
When they're calling you out
Don't bend, don't break
Baby, don't back down

It's my life
It's now or never
'Cause I ain't gonna live forever
I just wanna live while I'm alive

(It's my life)
My heart is like an open highway
Like Frankie said, "I did it my way"
I just wanna live while I'm alive

(It's my life)
And it's now or never
I ain't gonna live forever
I just wanna live while I'm alive

(It's my life)
My heart is like an open highway
Like Frankie said, "I did it my way"
I just wanna live while I'm alive
'Cause it's my life!

@Mark Jordan,

hey Mark :) thank you so much for this and for the reminder of the song!! You know there are a lot of songs that have that title I think yes? I wonder why this version speaks to you? I appreciate you posting the lyrics thank you my friend :) Send me more yes??

Here is a little song I have not heard in a while. Hope you like. It is my reason for doing everything I do :) Jenna x

Well now Christopher you are asking me to ask you the story behind it and so I will not ask and instead add my own interpretation to it eh? hahah.. I am just joking please tell me which situation gave you cause to write this lyric. Who is this beauty slept alone while you were awake pacing the floors! :)

Ah, the answer to that I shall send to you privately, my lady....

And if you're going to bring Perry and the boys in, here's my favourite:

Devilishly easy to play on guitar, you know.... two entire chords!

Aha I can picture you Christopher axing out to this with your Peavey turned all the way up to 11 right :) Quiet! It is 3am and the neighbours are trying to sleep! :) And but a good song choice says me! :)

I like the feel of this song I think it is inspiring in its way. I hope that makes sense? Jenna x

A powerful song truly. I will not ask what it signifies to you. Well no, I will ask what it signifies and but I will not be nosey and will just wonder quietly to myself instead :)

And one of my favs..
Half my time I got it right
Butthole Surfers ~ "Ah Ha"

Perhaps he is refering to Eastern Thought. I think this whole song is in reference to exploring way outside your comfort zone, so that you might become comfortable with your comfort zone.
Sean

@Chris Parker, I hear all kindsa weirdness in there even a little Hank Marvin I am sure hahah.. thank you! Me I am being all hippie today and pretending like I know anything bout anything
i love this vibe :) Jenna x

@Touch Of Death, Sean Eastern thought and comfort zones? Wow. I had thought Dylan was fairly straight with his lyrics like this which to me was some weird kind of love entanglement. I like eastern thought and comfort zones though. Thank you for sharing that with me :) One for you? My favourite version of this :)
thank you again Jenna x

Hmmm... I have a few top songs at present, my taste is rather eclectic.

One Believer by Johnny "Slim" Campbell

Pyramid Song by Radiohead

Romance Op. 5 by Tchaikovsky

NASA Anthem by NASA

Lateralus by Tool

That'd probably be top 5 at the moment. Weird taste, I know, but I like what I like. Get over it lol :p

Oh, and even wierder, anybody else familiar with Kyrie IX from the Tridentine Rite of the RCC?

Gets stuck in your head like mad.

The RCC? I heard of them - a band with quite a few members yes? Dude that is too funny :) And but I appreciate your tastes. There is nothing "weird" about tastes. Our tastes are for nobody to judge :) And but I do not know if you are purely a music lover with eclectic taste or rather a lover of eclectic music. In any case perhaps you might appreciate this. Just a great song from plenty of years ago :) Supergrass ~ Richard III

I heard this last night and it brought back all sorts of memories when I heard it on the radio last night

Smoke on the Water
Deep Purple

We all came out to Montreux
On the Lake Geneva shoreline
To make records with a mobile
We didn't have much time
Frank Zappa and the Mothers
Were at the best place around
But some stupid with a flare gun
Burned the place to the ground
Smoke on the water, a fire in the sky, smoke on the water

They burned down the gamblin' house,
It died with an awful sound
and Funky Claude was running in and out
Pulling kids out the ground
When it all was over
We had to find another place
But Swiss time was running out
It seemed that we would lose the race
Smoke on the water, a fire in the sky, smoke on the water

We ended up at the Grand Hotel
It was empty cold and bare
But with the Rolling truck Stones thing just outside
Making our music there
With a few red lights and a few old beds
We make a place to sweat
No matter what we get out of this
I know, I know we'll never forget
Smoke on the water, a fire in the sky ,smoke on the water

ONLY SOLITAIRE
Jethro Tull

Brain-storming habit-forming battle-warning weary
winsome actor spewing spineless chilling lines ---
the critics falling over to tell themselves he's boring
and really not an awful lot of fun.
Well who the hell can he be when he's never had V.D.,
and he doesn't even sit on toilet seats?
Court-jesting, never-resting --- he must be very cunning
to assume an air of dignity
and bless us all with his oratory prowess,
his lame-brained antics and his jumping in the air.
And every night his act's the same
and so it must be all a game of chess he's playing
But you're wrong, Steve: you see, it's only solitaire.'

I met a man who lost his mind

In some lost place I had to find

Follow me the wise man said

But he walked behind

I walked into a hospital

Where none were sick and none was well,

When at night the Sisters left

I could not walk at all.

Some girls wander by mistake

Into the mess that scalpals make.

Are you the teachers of my heart

We teach old hearts to break.

A met a woman long ago

Her hair the black the black can go

Are you the teacher of the heart?

Soft she whispered, no

I met a girl across the sea,

Her hair the gold that gold could be.

Are you the teacher of the heart?

Yes, but not for thee.

I spent my hatred every place,

On every work, on every face

Is my passion perfect,

No! Do it once again.

Oh teachers are my lessons done?

I cannot do another one,

They laughed and laughed and laughed and said,

Child are your lessons done?

I was handsome, I was strong,

I knew the words of every song

Did my singing please you?

No, the words you sang were wrong

Come close, step inside Radiance from a dying world Contagious and careless You're spreading your disease among us Warm sweat, no regret All you see is the TV set While people around you Are dying like flies

Non-stop violence, they feed us cascades Of non-believers dying in the sand Feeding us with violence, we face the fall of man Believe me, and catch me if you can

Catch me if you can!

Come close, step inside Radiance from a dying world Contagious and careless You're spreading your disease among us White noise in your ears Your eyes look like monitors But what you need is silence And a positive vibe

Not your TV!

Non-stop violence, they feed us cascades Of non-believers dying in the sand Feeding us with violence, we face the fall of man Believe me, and catch me if you can

Catch me if you can...

So I take shelter in tomorrow Tomorrow will bring a brand new day I think I can make it right tomorrow I think I need more sleep today

Lets play for keeps again tomorrow I need a pill to stay awake I guess I'll always hate tomorrow Until it's far away...

Hey J,

Just for you, an old one of mine that I've left alone for far too long (might try to get this one done for you-tube, although it's still not a "rocky" one....). If you ask, you will get the story behind it:

Tonite

Beauty,
My beauty
Sleeps alone tonight
I wish
She'd wake
Come home tonight

Peace,
Her peace
Cannot be mine tonight
I sleep,
I wake,
All alone tonight

Tonight she is...
Tonight she won't....
Tonight I want it not to be
Tonight

Sleep,
Warm sleep,
Wakes me tonight
Dreamt,
I dreamt
I dreamt it all tonight

Tonight she is....
Tonight she won't....
Tonight I want it not to be
Tonight

Can't,
I can't
Let it be tonight
Dreamt,
I dreamt
I dreamt it all tonight

Tonight she is....
Tonight she won't....
Tonight I want it not to be
Tonight

Tonight she is....
Tonight she won't...
Tonight I want it not to be...

Tonight she is....
Tonight she won't....
Tonight I want it not to be....

Tonight....

Not the happiest with this rendition, but hey, at least it's out there....

Christopher, now you have a talent see and but that is too sad a song for me today! Here is what I am talking bout to get your bones rattling ha... BLACK SABBATH ~ SUPERNAUT (I prefer the Ministry version and but the ol original sounds SO good!)
I've been through magic and defied reality
I've lived a thousand years and it never bothered me
[yt]wlW9s_QGyJc[/yt]

Ah, Sabbath, such a happy-go-lucky little group.....

Okay, happy? Right. Uh, let's see now.... er..... don't worry, I can think of one, honest I can! Um.......

Right! Got it!

[yt]aPhWfSeMYHA[/yt]

Nailed it!

Thanks for the thread Jenna. Iteresting.
Here's on that makes me kick myself and keep going:

I turn on the tube and what do I see
A whole lotta people cryin' 'don't blame me'
They point their crooked little fingers ar everybody else
Spend all their time feelin' sorry for themselves
Victim of this, victim of that
Your momma's too thin; your daddy's too fat

Get over it
Get over it
All this whinin' and cryin' and pitchin' a fit
Get over it, get over it

You say you haven't been the same since you had your little crash
But you might feel better if I gave you some cash
The more I think about it, old billy was right
Let's kill all the lawyers, kill 'em tonight
You don't want to work, you want to live like a king
But the big, bad world doesn't owe you a thing

Get over it
Get over it
If you don't want to play, then you might as well split
Get over it, get over it

It's like going to confession every time I hear you speak
You're makin' the most of your losin' streak
Some call it sick, but I call it weak

You drag it around like a ball and chain
You wallow in the guilt; you wallow in the pain
You wave it like a flag, you wear it like a crown
Got your mind in the gutter, bringin' everybody down
Complain about the present and blame it on the past
I'd like to find your inner child and kick it's little ***

Get over it
Get over it
All this bitchin' and moanin' and pitchin' a fit
Get over it, get over it

Get over it
Get over it
It's gotta stop sometime, so why don't you quit
Get over it, get over it
