Power Plant Explosion in Middletown, CT; numerous injuries

I was tweeting with a friend online and he said he felt an earthquake. Few minutes later, reports began coming in of a local power plant pipeline explosion. Prayers for everyone involved.

This happened in the city in which I work. Its been non stop since it happened this morning. More pics of the building can be seen here:

The building, whats left of it, was not leveled, as parts are still standing, as can be seen in the pic. It was still under construction, and was due to open this Spring. However, that will obviously not be happening. At least 2 confirmed dead, with quite a few injuries. The effects of the blast were felt quite a few miles away.

At least 5 confirmed dead at this time. Initial reports stated 50 people working at the time, however, now they're saying an unknown number. During the week, there are reported to be upwards of 200-300 people working.

A student of mine that lives over one mile away felt the blast. The news spread quickly: a friend of mine in Germany contacted me. It was on the news over there.

Good heavens.

Reminds me too much of a paint factory explosion that happened here. I was driving down the highway when it happened, but fortunately didn't sustain anything other than one helluva scare.
