One steps & three step sparring. How many is using?

Taekwondo Hoshinsul by WTF (2006)

The most interesting is the one by the WTF, which is volume 2 of a three part book series. There are defenses against grabs, sticks, gun, as well as the standard one step sparring against punch. I guess this cuts against the argument of some that the WTF is only concerned about the "sport side" of Taekwondo.

The "Taekwondo Hoshinsul by WTF (2006)" sounds really interesting.

Can you provide aditional information that might help finding it online?
(ISBN, publishing company, name of the three part book series)

I tried google, unfortunately i was unable to find anything about it.

Hi!

I am just thinking..How many is still training with 1-3 steps ( WTF/Kukkiwon )?
I quit teaching those two years ago. After training with it almost 30 years.

..just curious
We teach one-steps from White through Green Belt; they are a part of the curriculum.

My mistake, it's part of a four book series, not three. Or at least I have the first four. There may be more.

Anyway, here is the info you requested:

Taekwondo Hoshinsul
ISBN 89-91522-49-1

email: [email protected]

15,000 won. The book is in the Korean language so it may be difficult to obtain unless you go to Korea. but try that email address and webpage. Published in 2006.

Thanks puunui!
That explains why I was unable to find anything, I thought all books by the WTF are published in both english and korean. ;)
Do you think the book is usefull for someone who doesn't speak korean?

The book series seems to consist of 6 books at the moment, I also found Taekwondo 5 "The Book of WTF Poomsae Competition" (2008) and Taekwondo 6 "The Science of Taekwondo" (2009).

Book 5 is also available in english, I hope they translate the earlier ones as well.

I was wondering if the WTF Hoshinsul text is as well written as the organization's latest official practitioner's and instructor's book: The Book of Teaching & Learning Taekwondo - Official Publication of the World Taekwondo Federation
(http://www.amazon.com/Book-Teaching-Learning-Taekwondo-Publication/dp/8960690511)

That WTF official publication, in my opinion, is better than the official English language Kukkiwon text on the subject of Taekwondo. Better in terms of depth and explanation of material covered, which includes the art and sports elements. The WTF book also covers Taekwondo in more easily understandable and well edited English language, and good graphics.

This is a good reference book especially on poomse, Dr.Cha Sok Park is one of the authors. It does rival the KKW text but I would say everyone KKW should own both.
We say the WTF is only the sport aspect, but they have had a poomse technical commitee for a long time.

The Hoshinsul book is written in the korean language, so it is hard to say. It does have the same kinds of line drawings as the book above and one of the co authors of both books is the same, GM LEE Kyong Myong, who is Chair of the WTF Education Committee.
