This one is a little easier then the princesses :D

There are three boxes. One is labeled "APPLES" another is labeled "ORANGES". The last one is labeled "APPLES AND ORANGES". You know that each is labeled incorrectly. You may pick one fruit from one box and must fix the labels based on that.

How can you label the boxes correctly?

Mmmm. An orange sounds pretty good right now.

I think I'd take my chances and try to pull and orange out of the "Apples and Oranges" box to solve the problem, even though I'd have a much better chance of pulling an orange out of the "Apples" box. ;)

Like Joe Portocalis says, "In the end, we're all fruit."

"monkey picks peach"

By picking one fruit from the box labeled "apples and oranges"

Here's why...

Each box is mislabeled. Therefore, the box labeled "Apples and Oranges" must contain only apples, or only oranges. Selecting one fruit will determine whether the contents are Apples, or Oranges.

If the fruit I select is an apple, therefore:
The box labeled Apples and Oranges contains Apples.
The box labeled Oranges contains Apples and Oranges.
The box labeled Apples contains Oranges.

If the fruit I select is an orange, therefore:
The box labeled Apples and Oranges contains Oranges.
The box labeled Oranges contains Apples
The box labeled Apples contains Apples and Oranges

Just dump the all the fruit in the box that says apples and oranges, that way it's labled correctly and you don't strain your brain. It's the lazy man's logic.

By George, I think she's got it! :)

Shows what a little logic can do for you!

Good show!

Hey morph,

You and I posted at the same time, so I didn't get to read you reply, however I like the alternative solution to problems. Not because it's "lazy," but often times the most simple solution is the best! :ultracool

Way to think "outside the box!"
