SGM Parker and hand conditionng

I know it has been discussed before that in his early training methods, SGM Parker used the makiwara and had one at his school. After he became more influenced by the chinese arts and their methods, I know that this type of training (punching hard objects) was discarded by SGM Parker. My question is, did SGM Parker adopt the chinese methods of hand conditioning for his personal study? Things such as iron palm training through the use of varying objects of hardness and herbal treatments that do not harm the hand. I have read that Ark Wong used this type of training and the herbs and was curious.
