Does anyone know, recommend, of a web site that does custom Kanji embroidery on a GI that is already owned buy the customer? I have a GI that I would like to have embroidered rather than purchase a new gi and ordered it embroidered. Obviously I would have to send it to them.

Thanks.

It would be like any embroidery picture. You would pay a set up fee for them to put it in their machine.

you basically just have to give them the image.

Is that embroidery punched all the way through the belt with the reverse image of the characters visible on the other side?

There are many companies who will do excellent custom embroidery but you usually have to supply the image for them to render, via their software into their embroidery machine.

If you need your Western name transliteration into kanji characters…that’s a different matter.

Here’s my name in Kanji.

There are some companies that will embroider (usually expensive black silk belts) without it appearing on the reverse. They do it by embroidering the outer silk cloth before sewing the whole belt together.

Can you buy silk purple belts? They’d look beautiful although be impractical; I imagine they’d undo all the time during grappling!

I was thinking of Kanji style on chest. and name in Kanji at bottom corner of jacket. I found one that will do limited translation into kanji included in your purchase price of new jacket, including names.

I would prefer not to purchase new jacket.

Well it’s how they make their money and keep going.

One I came across said they open up the folded belt and embroidery one side and then resew the belt.

Maybe easier if there can be made patches with required embroidery ?

Yes, most lower rank students have a style Kanji embroidered patch on left chest. Some black belt students have style embroidered on left chest and organization embroidered on left sleeve at shoulder height.

I am planning on talking to Sensi about this. I just think the embroidery on jacket looks better.

What I meant was I am willing to pay for the embroidery, but I would prefer to have it done to my jacket as opposed to buying a new jacket and then having to pay for the embroidery by the seller on the new jacket. I have found several business here willing to do embroidery on my jacket but but not in Kanji.

Companies here won’t embroider on customer’s property because they say, occasionally, the embroidery machine chews up the clothing and destroys it. Then they are told the garment that’s been destroyed was a rare piece of clothing woven from the silk that Cleopatra herself wore when she first met Mark Anthony and has been handed down the family line and finally to the current owner by his dying grandmother. Then they want free service for ever or threaten to get solicitors involved! So they just don’t do it.
