anybody got some practice ideas I can do?

I never got to use it....

Years ago the ITA was doing 'minor fields of study'. ground defense (then morphed into a dumbed down BJJ style), Hanmudo (tons of fun, I wish there was a full time instructor near by), short stick (not my cup of tea, my wrists are too skinny) and korean sword....but my instructor didn't like it so w never got into it. I had planned on becoming certified to teach it, ut then the poop hit the fan at mach speed...so nothing there...

Now I got a nice wooden katana.....:hmm:

Is it a bokken, Gran. If so, do you have a saya to go with it? If you do, the it will be possible to suggest some Iai excercises and try to describe some of the simpler kata for you.

Since I have no Idea what a saya is I am inclined to say no.

Just the nicely finished wooden stick with some kanji on the handle.

but do tell about the exercise!

(and I think at one time I knew that it was a bokken...but it's been too long since I got it...for my birthday, no less...I guess it's a sign that it reappears on the anniversary! :))

hey...it's not as if I tease all the time with my cool stuff!

:)
