That, is a great movie.Me too...the closest I can get to WW1 and JCVD is...
I know what I'm having for dinner now. Have a good night. To be fair, fish and chips is the only way this country survived the horrors of the great war. Homegrown potatoes and plenty of fish. True story. Yet another reason to eat this paragon of deliciousness.
I personally ain't particularly invested in Jean Claude (beyond that he seems like a quite ok guy to me), and don't particularly like his movies either (the one or two I've tried to watch, that is), because I found the plot ridiculous and the acting terrible.
But I just watch the guy moving.
That's more than enough. His acting I don't care about at all, but that he was and he still is a superb martial artist, it just takes a look to evaluate. A guy who moves like that, at his age now and not in choreographed movies.... I don't find any particular reason to question that he could have been a sport champion 40 years ago.
For example, looking at say how Dolph Lundgren (3 years older than Van Damme) moves now I have a much harder time thinking he was a competition champion back then.
Hence my surprise to your remark.
But it wasn't anything more than that - surprise. Movie personalities dont interest me in the slightest.
No worry, I didn’t have you in mind when I as now realize that some may actually hold JC as inspiration for their own martial arts performances, which I think is ok, in this way I think JC done a good job. My intention was not to discredit anyone’s idol.I personally ain't particularly invested in Jean Claude (beyond that he seems like a quite ok guy to me), and don't particularly like his movies either (the one or two I've tried to watch, that is), because I found the plot ridiculous and the acting terrible.

It was a story told to me by an American.I’m a little lost. What about WW1?
See, that’s also another example on taking another shape when it comes to the US/Europe - the Chips and Fries thing.(although I think the Belgians actually say fries(in French) when it comes to Chips)Heeeey we're actually having fish and chips for dinner too!!! Cheers all!
