Jim Keating has been around for a long time. He even was the primary drive behind a magazine series called "Fighting Knives" a few years back. He is out-spoken and controversial. Jim is pretty much the father of the modern Bowie knife method. He also came up with a tactical knife method he called "Drawpoint" which uses a reverse grip. This meshes very well with Wing Chun technique.

Jim has always been a "cut the crap and get right to it" kind of guy. He has lots of interesting things to say about Wing Chun in this article from his website. Notice that he touches on several of the discussion topics we have gone over here recently. Enjoy!

As a complete aside, the Drawpoint system is really just a condensed and repackaged piece of the Pekiti Tirsia Kali reverse grip knife curriculum, Jim has noted this in interviews. If you get the chance to train with him I would highly recommend it, he is one of the best martial artists that I have ever met.
