Instructor Credentials

Is there an online database to find out if an instructor is certified? How would one go about finding this info out? What about tournament victories (eg national championships, etc.)? Thanks for the info.

There is no online database for that. If you get some information about the Instructor, (style/kwan of TKD, organization he is claiming certification from - WTF,ITF,WIF etc, Age and rank being claimed, I'm sure the TKD people here at Martial Talk would be able to render some assistance or at least give some proper direction to follow.

That is what is weird, well to me anyway. The certificate comes from the school he is teaching at with a WTF line at the bottom.

That is not a Kukkiwon WTF certificate, it is nothing more than a school certificate and they have attached some sort of reference to the WTF on it. Not really honest to do that, it's misrepresentation if they are saying it was authorized by the WTF/Kukkiwon. Check the main instructors certification if possible. It should have a picture/print of the Kukkiwon in the middle of the document and it should be signed in the lower right corner by Un Yung Kim, president - Kukkiwon.
