Not to go too far off tangent, but I seriously doubt anyone or thing out there would send sentient beings here on a trip that would last 10's of thousands of years. Robotic empty ships maybe, like we send to Mars, etc, but not ships with beings. The trip would just be too long. So....no.

If beings from some where else once visited earth I see no reason why they may not have given primitive man a way of defending himself. If they gave man the knowledge to cultivate the land or advanced technology to build why would they not also teach man to defend himself
