Video 1:
She kept trying to do the same thing. A more skilled foe would have made Her pay for that.
She also has a weak Front Kick.
She seems to lean out of Round Kicks a whole lot more than She really should.
On a few occassions, during Side Kicks, She kept Her back hand around Her Ribs, as oppose to Hip.
In the Step Sparring, the initial move was fine, but each time, the followup was poor.
I would not use Her as an example.
Video 2:
Instantly better ITF Style Punching.
Doesnt lean out of Round Kicks.
Faster Back Kick.
Clearly excellent Balance.
Isnt pointlessly Retreating like the previous one.
She seems to crosstrain like nobodies business.
Poor Momentum on Flying Side Kick.
Slightly poor Hand Position at times.
Overall, well Trained, and could well be used to represent what She is. Much more than Video 1.
Video 3:
Now My Fingers are tired. So, Good Flow, Good Technique, probably shouldnt be a Role Model, all else is swell.
That was interesting to watch!Yes, but . . . isn't she cute?
For real though, I agree for the most part. She seems like she definitely needs to work on both her power and aggression. She must not have been putting much into those jump spinning back kicks because her opponent was walking right through them.
Still, she has pretty good form and looks really nice in those still pics.
I've always loved this girl, ever since I first discovered her a couple of years ago. She has a handful of full matches on YouTube if you're so inclined to go looking.
BTW, Girl #1 (Silvia Farigu) and Girl #2 (Katya Solovey) actually met each other in a match earlier this year. It's nothing special, but interesting nonetheless:
I know she won a bronze medal in the Olympics in '08. But honestly, I know very little about Olympic TKD. It's foreign territory for me.
.......probably shouldnt be a Role Model, all else is swell.
I'm up for cuteness. But that's a far cry from porn, tez. Enjoying some competent and cute women doesn't make this a girlie site.

Most martial arts women I know would bash you for calling them 'cute', in fact most women I know would bash you for calling them cute, cute is small, powerless, a pet, something diminutive, a child. If you find a woman attractive say so, if she's sexy say so but for crying out loud 'cute'? It's a word we use about children not women.
Maybe that's a British thing. I'd be flattered to be considered cute.

Well I only going to say, I like more the ITF style sparring that the WTF style sparring. It seems to me ITF style sparring is better because usens both hands and feet so it's a more balanced type of sparring, i don't like the sinewave forms of ITF but it's sparring definetively for me is more balanced and more suitable for a bare knuckle fight outside the dojang.

So we will be having a thread soon of 'cute' TKD men then?
Cute isn't exactly a good thing for a guy to be, teenage girls call boys cute, a cute man? ugh.
The woman Cyriacus thinks shouldn't be a role model.

Is there a point in singling out women TKDists or are we just to judge them on their 'cuteness'?

Yea it must be a British thing. Or maybe a feminist thing. I have heard some Britts use the word cute in reference to people that were not children. I had a British roommate in my 20's and he used cute quite often when talking about a female. As Steve said, this aversion to the word "cute" must be a British thing. I just turned 30 and if a girl called me cute then I'd be pretty happy about it.
