Baochuan and the others are right...
I never meant to slight legitimate kickboxing.
But if you've ever been to a "traditional" karate or kung fu tournament...then you would see where my analogy of bad kickboxing comes from.
What is interesting is that in a truly "traditional" karate tournament, the stuff that passes as points in most arenas will not even be acknowledged.
The bottom line is one killing blow...one point...one point wins.
Very rarely is ippon (one point) awarded...
At best one can hope to accumulate half points.
And that comes nowhere near reality...but it does come closer to the original intent of the originators of these arts...the proper mental framework.
If one enters the ring with the intent of gathering more trophies...then he doesn't understand why he's there.
