The first Arnis-Escrima Tournament in the Philippines in 1979, the rules of the tournament includes all the japanese style and taekwondo and chinese , it never work even one time until the championship had terminated. That is only in the stick fighting how much more for a live Ginunting. Can you use any of these. Lets face it, it is reality.

Americans, the British , the Germans, the Australians, Canadians and everyone that is trying to learn FMA.Tell the truth or else they will be the one to tell you the truth. Don't wait that they will be one to discover that you as a Filipino you don't know the consequences of the blade as it travels 500 miles per second.So be careful because wrong teaching affects the entire filipino dignity.
Let us not hide the reality of the true fighting system. Ask yourself , if you will be in real fight will you allow your enemy to take the stick, bolo or knife in your hand or allow you to be thrown into the ground and he starts pounding you or you allow yourself to kicked when if fact you have the weapons in your hand. Don't ask me ask your self.
All styles are good but the filipino discipline is distinct in its structures and in its implementations. Open your mind and learn that common sense is the best education. Don't be stereo type and later you be like others learning how to be perfect and when mistake is committed you commit suicide.
This thread is important, sometimes the reality hurts ego but it is better to get hurt than to die with disgrace
