I do Pekiti Tirsia and when I go to seminars the guys who can't even swing the weapon properly are the guy who are "experts, guros, tactical knows what works bs" types. They are on all the instructor web sites in multiple disciplines but they suck and can't even FLOW or manipulate the weapon.
I think this is especially a problem for FMA since so many empty handed idiots realize their deficiency and try and add in some weapons first arts into their neutered and de-clawed arts but only as an add on system.
FMA is very complete in and of itself and those who do FMA only seem to be the ones who get it... Those who do FMA as "part of the curriculum" usually just give it the backseat and all their bad habits from empty hand just make them useless and hopeless when it comes to the blade.
Am I right?
