Ever hear of this martial artist?

Just wanted to know if anyone has ever heard of Ani Oppo? I don't know if this is the correct spelling, but my uncle mentioned something about him being low key, but very well respected in the martial arts world about 30-40 years ago.

So....
1) I wanted the correct spelling of his name.
2) I'd appreciate any information concerning this gentleman

not completely sure, but I got the impression that he was a kempo practitioner. Any clues?
