Sounds way more fun than any of our recent presidents. Reagan chopped wood for fun...
Chopping wood is a MAN'S hobby! There's a lot to be said about the practical strength of a man who chops wood on a regular basis......it's like grabbing ahold of coiled wire.
It's ironic that modern training techniques for MMA and Boxing emulate wood chopping by using a sledge hammer on a tire........because it's the kind of training that builds real practical explosive upper body strength.
As for Presidents........who was tough? Certainly Lincoln (who was known to wrestle for money in his younger days)...............Teddy Roosevelt's hobbies of boxing, judo, weight lifting and using the White House for a rough and tumble rec room are well traveled national lore....PLUS, TR got shot, then gave a SPEECH AN HOUR LONG SPEECH WITH THE BULLET STILL LODGED IN HIM BEFORE GETTING MEDICAL TREATMENT........who else?
Andrew Jackson, of course (Jackson fought 13 duels during his life......in addition to the wars he was an active participant in, starting at age 13).........
Interestingly a little research yields the fact that Gerald Ford was linebacker and center for the University of Michigan.......that definitely counts.
Lets not forget George Washington was 6'2, well-muscled, and described as physically strong, couple that with the extraordinary courage he displayed throughout his life, AND he was said to be undefeated in 200 wrestling matches.......move Washington to the top of the TOUGHEST PRESIDENT PILE!
