An occasional seminar is great, since it gives us an opportunity to meet other FMA practitioners and introduces us to new ideas that might be incorporated in our present fighting strategies, but I think one should be faithful to his choosen style. If a particular technique can be utilized well within your style, then use it, but don't be tempted to incorporate impressive moves that otherwise are out of place in your style. Each style has an emphasis and a flavor (so to speak) and to add techniques that distract from that flavor can create lack of balance. My own past experience has been very eclectic, and I know that there is a disunity which I am now attempting to correct by focusing on one exclusive style.
