Bait and Shoot controversy

Who processed the deer?

Meat that is filled with blood becomes hard because the blood congeals sort of like a scab. You can't chew the meat, it actually hurts your teeth!

Like I said, I have ground up the hematoma to make it edible.

Anyway, these animal rights fanatics are the left's answer to christian fundamental right wing fanatics. Neither have opinions that are somewhat reasonable and both flip out about the normal stuff people do.

Like hunting. ;)

Don't know. All I know is that the guy came and took it and the deputy told me that his family would eat better than usual on it. He may have ground it up as you mentioned.

Just to stir the pot a little. Actualy animal testing is really a big expensive waste of time, money and animals. Before a drug can be used for humans it has to be tested on humans.

True, but they don't test drugs on humans that kill/maim/damage the rats, pigs, dogs, first. Are willing to volunteer yourself for the next beta batch of anti-cancer drugs?

I agree with you - for some things. For other things, it is very necessary.

For example, animal testing of the end-products of some cosmetics companies - not necessary. Usually the suspect chemicals were already tested on animals, and the formulation may be something the company has been churning out for years, but they still do pretty pointless tests with the end product. Not necessary, and a waste of animal life, time, money, etc.

Some drug testing I think is essential to do on animals as a first step. Then pilot studies on humans can begin. Of course, there are always problems with that... for example, DES was tested on rats and was "shown" to be harmless to them - then when DES was given to pregnant women, their daughters suffered enormous problems when they grew up and hit puberty.

Anyways.

And I agree with upnorth - interesting comparison to hand-waving on both "sides".
