Baguazhang

Been a long time here on MT since there has been a Baguazhang post. And likely due to the lack of Baguazhang people here these days and I suspect it will go nowhere... I did some Baguazhang years ago, Cheng 8 palm, Yin 8 Palm, Jiang or was it Liang swimming dragon, and something my first shifu called old style baguazhang. And I have been thinking about revisiting of late. Also looking around, it seems seems that guys who did xingyiquan and Baguazhang tend to migrate more towards Bagua when they get old.....

According to AI
Baguazhang, also known as Pakua Chang, is a Taoist internal Chinese martial art characterized by continuous, circular footwork and spiraling body movements, emphasizing internal energy cultivation and fluid, evasive tactics

Also, in my youth, I was very intrigued by the Pa Kua Chang (Baguazhang) of Bok Nam Park. Use to train with a guy who trained it.

Old people tend to integrate:

- Bagua footwork,
- XingYi punch,
- Long fist kick,
- Taiji waist.

Does Bagua have "skip footwork"? I like "skip footwork" a lot."

I'm not impressed by that at all

ever seen or done a swimming dragon form, I'm guessing no..

This is supposed to be Cheng style

I did Jiang or Liang swimming dragon. It had a lot of low high to kicks, and I believe a few hops

My Yang Taijiquan style had hops in the dao form
